Anyone who knows me knows this happens. One day I wake up sick and tired of everything I own and need to change it all up. My house, my hair, my everything. All at once.
Well, that’s how I feel, but that’s never what I actually do. At least not on that scale. (hair, well, maybe…) I have been known to re-do a room in a week, but this time it’s more general than just a room, it’s a MODE.
Maybe it’s that I get influenced by my work, or perhaps I am just a rambling rose, but I am feeling bitten by a modern type of bug that also has some vintage in it’s blood, one that’s a bit mysterious– a bug making me want to stir things up in my own home design environment. Unless we win a lottery (never say never…) or money falls out of the sky and into my lap, it ain’t gonna happen, at least not for now. But it’s always good to plan for the future…

What the hell, a girl can get distracted. Just when things are just as they should be, you want something different… time to get myself together and be thankful for what I have and dream on…

Love these homes. You are not alone. I too get the bug to change and overhaul the things around me. I chalk it up to being constantly inspired and influences by the world around me. My design process is ever evolving as I am sure yours is as well. It just means you are always ready and willing to perfect your craft!
I looooooooove modern architecture lately. I think it is my post-holiday tendencies to throw out all of the clutter and junk and live cleaner and simpler. The Swedish do it right. If there’s ever a modern home I would love to see: it would be yours. You would be able to pull off that perfect marriage of simple and clean with Warm and cozy!
I’m in the mood for clean lines and unfettered architecture too. I think Krissy has it right, the holidays make us nutty with junk.
I check your blog every day (happy anniversary by the way) and rarely comment because as much as I love your design ability, vintage eclectic is not my style, and I rarely have anything to add to the conversation. I turn to you for cozy inspiration, which I TRY to replicate in my very minimalist apartment
I, too, would like to see how you tackle a modern space.

Katie, “Maybe I feel old”.. Reminds me of how I was at my niece’s bachelorette party in a hip, stylish nightclub last wk.. As if being among in an uber chic and minimally designed space is going to make me a hipster. I saw you tweeting about the unhappy hipsters. Maybe that’s got you jonesing for modern architecture!!! LOL!
I love your picks! Birds Eye has designed a lot of homes in my area. Tthey fit in with the natural environment so well…
The new year is the perfect time for a new beginning. That you feel this way is simply a sign that you are in tune with the universe. In my experience, such feelings subside, or move in directions where they can be gratified, as the year unfolds.
Beautiful picks! I am in love with the Waldemarson Berglund firm. So glad you turned me onto them…
Gorgeous photos
I go in spurts with different design themes too! I am in my vintage/rustic/hipster/what’s old is new phase right now. That’s why I love coming to your blog to see eclectic inspiration. Too funny, maybe you can sway me in a cleaner, more mod direction,,,
Ooooo i want to see what you would do with a modern space!
