I have never has so many people inquire about a paint color as this in a client’s bright and sunny dining room. The funny thing is, at the time, we tried at least 10 colors, and our vote was for a soft aqua-teal shade called Sea Beet. Among the second choices were Reseda (toned down 50 percent) and Glass III.
The homeowner insisted on a “Kelly Green” dining room, and the truth is, I was appalled and concerned… They proved us wrong: it is the most requested color by far on any of my portfolio pictures. Just goes to show you, trust YOUR gut. It will most likely be the best choice. The color of this Dining Room is: Chelsea Green by Stark Paint.

Katie I have wondered this since I saw this room! So glad I know now, I even debated taking the photo to my local paint shop to see if they could mix something similar. I thought it might be a farrow and ball but did not see anything on their chart that matched up.
I always wondered! I scoured the Ben Moore book and found a few that I thought were close, but not that exact color. I thought it was a custom mix. I was considering a butlers pantry in that color…
One of my favorite rooms. Breathtaking.
The room photographed beautifully…..glad they are happy.
What color is the ceiling?
I need to check, but most of the ceilings in this home Are farrow and Ball Pale Powder or Skylight.
I have been wondering this for ages. I could not tell if it was photo manipulation or if that wall color was really that magnificent! Thank you for sharing Katie!
Ah! The mystery is solved. Thank you thank you thank you.
I thought you were a farrow and ball girl!
I AM! But they sometimes just don’t have the range…
I love this dining room as well as your own dining room. Received my copy of BH&G and was delighted to see your beautiful home and lovely family . I truly enjoy seeing your work and reading your blog. Thanks!
Gorgeous…better than Arsenic by Farrow & Ball!
I had searched your site a couple times looking to see if you had blogged about this. I think this would be a great color in my office!
I had mistakenly thought it was F&B Arsenic until I research into the old file and then I remembered that we ended up with Stark david Oliver paints, which is a GREAT line.
Glad you all like it,
K
In the original picture of this room you could partially see a painting in the hallway. I have been obsessed with it. do you know who the artist is? It looks like a color block oil painting.
Damn gorgeous.
I love this room and the paint but my favorite is the drapery fabric, what is it?
Thanks for revealing the mystery Katie. Green can be so hard to work with but you really pulled it off here.
Hi Katie,
Absolutely fabulous colour. Can I ask what the curtain fabric is?
Thanks,
Tori
