I have talked alot about Mom’s affinity for Indian and ethnic textiles, so I thought I’d snap a few shots of her guest bedrooms’ current mix. This is a good way to illustrate how to combine completely unrelated colors and patterns successfully to develop an eclectic look.
I am much less daring in my approach; a bit more methodical and definite, but I so admire how she creates such symphony with un-related and unexpected combinations. It’s an art; being able to do this. What do you think?

Everything looks so pretty, I can see where you get all of your talent. Did Mom teach you the ropes or did you go to school for design?
I love it! She’s got an eye for it! Beautiful chair and pillow and I would’ve never thought to put those together, but it looks great!
Love that white iron bed and pillows and your mom’s veranda looks fabulous! I love the planter and the garden statue behind it.
That is what I would love to be able to do – but I’m stuck on the whole “matching” thing! Maybe I’ll have to just be crazy and throw in an unexpected pattern or color and live with it…..

What a great collection of fabrics and I also love the green and white striped chair…living with such color would certainly put me in a good mood everyday!

Where do you and your mom find fabric to use in the pillows … or they purchased pillows? I am having a difficult time as a non-professional decorator in locating this type of fabric.
