You never know what’s around the corner… If someone told me last year that a e-tailer poised to be the next “Amazon.com” of the home goods sector world would ask me to join the team as part of their blog, I would have said you needed to have your head checked.
A welcome and flattering surprise: Wayfair, a quickly growing Boston-based online company has asked me to contribute as a regular writer to their new blog, My Way Home. The aim is to create an online destination for readers to see, linger, learn and shop. Their blog roster reads like a Who’s Who of Twitter and the blogosphere, and I am really happy to share such experienced and talented company.
Most exciting, however, is working with Ms. Kris Kennedy, veteran editor of Better Homes & Gardens, and innovator of Wayfair’s new “content and editorial” initiative. With Kris in charge, you can be sure the blog will look and read like your favorite magazine with high quality content, visuals and shopping advice all in one compact place.
Please come visit me there often; I will be there a few times a month and with each post, I will select product that directly relates to whatever we are discussing that day. Their vast selection will really surprise you; it’s a whole lot to take in. I am still wandering around the site, searching for inspiration and ways make your home more beautiful– without breaking the bank. That’s so exiting for you! And I love that entry with the pops of red, so pretty!
Exciting stuff Katie! You have some great posts over there, I love your Wayfair picks.
I *love* Wayfair!
Can’t wait to see your collab, I saw a whole bunch of Herman Miller chairs on there just last week!
Way cool is right!
I agree that they chose a really talented group of contributors and I look forward to seeing where that goes. But I think their choice of the word “Homemakers” is disparaging. I know it’s meant to be cute but they should present you as their team of experts.
Good on you, though. Congratulations!
I hadn’t heard of Wayfair, and am eager to check it out. As for the photo appended to this post, please tell us more. I absolutely love this entry, and would like to know more about it.
I agree with Urban Cottage, the homemaker has a connotation that I find unsettling. I follow some of the other bloggers who will be on this blog and you are all experts and professionals in your field. I would hope Wayfair makes this change accordingly.
Congratulations Katie, you deserve every success and I am keen to follow your new posts.
Best wishes,
Julia, London, UK
Congrats, Katie. Great work!
That is unbelievable!! I love your blog and you inspired me to do my own. We are soul sisters who have never met:-) Are you going to the Blogger’s Conference in LA? You do great work!!! Kathleen
Good work, Kates! Would love to know the source for the bench you have used in the entry photo.
Wayfair is for the former CSN stores, right Katie? I have purchased items there for myself and clients. They have some great prices and a huge selection of products. And I love all the options to narrow down your search on style, size & materials. The website is really easy to navigate as your try to find the right item amongst 1000′s of choices.
Congrats, Katie! Can’t wait to read you there too!
