Maximalism My Way

This Soho loft was truly a labor of love, for two friends who had recently renovated a classic loft with brick walls and a shotgun space but who wanted a luxe, chic, masculine, traditional home with a “wow” factor. My biggest challenge here was to avoid the typical loft living genre; no industrial elements, oversized linen furniture or rustic case goods. We used jewel tones, antique rugs, animal print, ikats, and lots of velvet to create a layered and complex group of spaces that have separate functions, within the context of brick walls and lack of windows in every rooms. Texture was key, hence the grasscloth throughout and layers of fabrics and objects. The brick wall feels right at home among all of their art and collections.
